Vector Center is looking for an Azure Senior Software Engineer to drive implementation and delivery of our platform. This individual will ideally be a full stack engineer, working alongside our global team, chartered to both execute in an applied science paradigm by creating AI enabled product features and customer insights, and in a research capacity by leading new innovations and creating novel algorithms. This role is ideal for a candidate strong in end-to-end development, that also has the quantitative ability, experience, and desire to contribute and grow in machine learning algorithmic and mapping exploration.
The project will be focused on Microsoft Azure technologies including, but not limited to, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Maps, Machine Learning Studio, Open Datasets, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory.
The goal of the Vector Center is to help global corporations, institutions, and governments predict how changes in water, food, and energy resources will impact stability, supply chains, sustainability, and brand.
Vector Center does this through a proprietary platform where data analytics and visualization tools can effectively and efficiently support clients in understanding their challenges around water-risk globally, and addressing these through data and context-based strategies in order to turn water risks into opportunities.
Participate in assessment, architecture, development, and execution of tasks related to the build of the Azure-based platform (including implementation, migration, new development, upgrades, third-party solutions and integration with external systems)
Deliver business requirement documents, functional specification documents, implementation plans, and status reports
Provide technical expertise regarding cloud architecture for both infrastructure and applications in Microsoft Azure
Acts as a subject-matter expert around Microsoft Azure
4+ years experience working as Azure Cloud engineer
Experience with the appropriate Azure Cloud products
Certification in Microsoft and/or similar Cloud Technologies is desired
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge
