About Evidence Action
Evidence Action is a section 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization registered in Washington DC. It aims to be a world leader in scaling evidence-based and cost-effective programs to reduce the burden of poverty for hundreds of millions of people in the poorest places. Our two flagship at-scale programs, Deworm the World and Dispensers for Safe Water, reached over 275 million people in 2018. These same programs were named “Top” and “Standout” charities respectively by GiveWell in 2018, with Deworm the World being named a Top Charity for the sixth year in a row.
In addition to running these scaled programs, Evidence Action also leverages its unique Beta incubator to explore what interventions with initial evidence of impact might be suitable for scale up to become our next flagship programs.

Evidence Action is seeking a dynamic, dependable, self-starter to join the DC team as a Senior Associate, Operations. The position will have wide ranging responsibilities and will work closely with the leadership team, including the CEO and Chief Financial & Administrative Officer (CFAO), and the Board. The position will oversee the office management and administration of the DC office. The position requires flexibility, and willingness to assume varied duties and projects.
Duties and responsibilities
The Senior Associate, Operations is responsible for providing high-level support in a fast-paced, high-energy environment to ensure the smooth functioning of the DC office and facilitating effective Board and leadership meetings. Assignments involve interactions with multiple levels within the international organization. The position will report to senior management and supervise the Operations Associate. Typical duties and responsibilities include:
Coordination of Board meetings and interactions Support the CEO and the CFAO (as the Board Secretary) to schedule, coordinate, and execute Board meetings, materials, and logistics. Coordinate Board sub-committee meetings. Leadership Team support Schedule the regular monthly calls of the leadership team, arrange the agenda and coordinate timely dissemination of materials. Coordinate the travel and related logistics for the bi-annual in person leadership meetings. Expense report preparation and other admin support for the CEO and other leadership as needed. Support the CFAO and General Counsel in maintaining relevant organizational registrations and statutory filings. 2. Operations and Administration
DC Office Administration: Oversee the day-to-day office management and administrative logistics. Play a leading role in maintaining the office culture by leading the Culture Committee and coordinating office events. Develop and maintain DC office operational procedures, including support and coordination of onboarding and training. Working in close collaboration with other departments such as HR, IT, Finance and Grants Administration, create and support systems for efficient work flow and processes 3. Special Projects
Conduct research and analytic activities including gathering background material and data in support of projects. Provide occasional assistance and support to the CEO and CFAO as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s Degree Three to five years’ related experience in a fast paced environment Tech-savvy with advanced computer skills (MS Office 365 applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and experienced in using a broad range of cloud-based tools and systems. Prior work experience with Board of Directors and senior leadership preferred Excellent organizational and administrative skills with special attention to detail Exceptional written and oral communication skills Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities and complete tasks effectively with minimal supervision. Quick learner and problem solver; a critical, analytical, and process-oriented thinker who is able to identify areas for improvement and offer suggestions as to how to make systems run more smoothly. Experience working across time zones or in an international organization preferred.
